Eve Air Mobility announced three new suppliers for its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
Garmin will supply the aircraft’s G3000 Integrated Flight Deck. This system includes a full range of avionics capabilities including an integrated flight management system, NAV/COM radios, transponder, audio management and access to related applications like checklists, charts, synoptics, and full-featured maps.
Liebherr will develop electromechanical actuators (EMA) for the aircraft’s fly-by-wire flight controls.
Intergalactic will provide a thermal management system to maintain an optimal temperature range for equipment, including both the aircraft’s onboard batteries and other electronic components. It will also help regulate cabin temperature.
These three new suppliers add to another three that EVE announced at the Paris Air Show last summer, including Nidec Aerospace LLC, a joint venture between Japan’s Nidec Corporation and Brazil’s Embraer (electric propulsion system), BAE Systems (energy storage system). And DUC Hélices Propellers (rotors and propellers).
Eve’s first production facility will be located in Taubaté, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The company first full-scale eVTOL prototype is under construction. The manufacturer plans to begin flight testing in 2024, followed by initial deliveries in 2026.
