China’s EHang Completes EH216 eVTOL Flight Testing

EHang’s two-seat EH216-S electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft has completed flight testing and is ready to proceed to type certification from Chinese regulators.

The company, based in Guangzhou, expects certification to come “soon” but did not offer a timeline.  It says it has received commitments for the EH216 from operators in Asia, including in Japan and Indonesia.

Specifications of the EH216-S include a 16-nautical-mile (30-km) range with a max payload of 485 pounds (220 kg).  It offers a top speed of  70 knots (130 km).
