California-based AAM startup Archer Aviation has announced the successful execution of local flight tests of its flagship Midnight eVTOL platform at the Al Bateen Executive Airport located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Conducted in partnership with the Abu Dhabi’s Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC) and other UAE institutions, the current phase of flight testing is intended to analyze the Midnight’s performance in dusty, high temperature conditions as Archer and the Abu Dhabi government begin laying the groundwork for local certification of the platform and the broader initiation of commercial air taxi operations.
