Air taxi startup Joby Aviation has announced that it will expand the size and output potential of its California-based manufacturing facility in a bid to double annual production rates for its flagship eVTOL platform as the company advances towards commercialization.
According to Joby, the expanded facility will be capable of sustaining a production rate of 24 platforms annually. The ramp up of Joby’s production and developmental capacity is being supported in part via support grants issued by the state of California and $894.0 million in investment from Japanese multinational Toyota.
