On May 20th, the North American Aeronautics Administration (NASA) and Boeing AAM subsidiary Wisk Aero announced a five-year agreement that will see the two entities collaborate on advancing research activities pertinent to NASA’s Air Traffic Management Exploration (ATM-X) project. The announcement represents a continuation of the existing research partnership first forged between Wisk and NASA in 2020.

The ATM-X initiative is intended to simulate and study the infrastructural requirements and operational best practices necessary to safely and comprehensively integrate emerging AAM solutions, namely autonomous systems, into the United States’ air traffic management architecture and commercial route networks. Wisk Aero is the provider of the Generation 6 autonomous air taxi platform.
