After entering into insolvency proceedings in December 2024, the assets and operations of German eVTOL startup Volocopter have been taken up by China’s Wanfeng Auto Holding Group and its Austrian subsidiary Diamond Aircraft under a newly negotiated $11.0 million deal according to emerging press reports and corporate statements.
German regional broadcaster SWR reports that Wanfeng and Diamond will sustain work and development on Volocopter’s eVTOL platform at its facilities in Bruchsal and will retain just over 180 of Volocopter’s 500 employees towards this end.
