Chinese UAM startup EHang has announced a new partnership with local automotive contractor JAC Motors and the Hefei Guoxian Holdings Company to establish an eVTOL production facility in the province of Anhui as the company continues to ramp up its effort to transition its market posture towards commercialization.
Along with the aim of establishing the city of Hefei as an eVTOL manufacturing hub, the strategic partnership signed by the three companies establishes a framework for cooperation and investment into R&D and infrastructural development objectives pertinent to the wider UAM market. In late January, EHang also announced a partnership with the China Communications Information & Technology Group (CCIT) and Shandong-based Weihai High-Tech Zone for joint-development work along similar lines.
