COLOGNE, Germany — The Management Board of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has selected Florian Guillermet to be the agency’s future Executive Director.  He will replace Luc Tytgat, who is currently the Acting Executive Director of EASA.  In September 2023,Tytgat succeeded Patrick Ky, who had vacated the Executive Director post in August 2023 when his 10-year mandate expired.

In January 2024, Guillermet is slated to make a presentation to the European Parliament’s Committee on Transport and Tourism.  A notice of formal appointment to the role of EASA Executive Director is planned for February 15, 2024.  The actual start date for his term remains to be confirmed.
