Honeywell International has agreed to acquire Civitanavi Systems S.p.A., an Italian provider of high-precision inertial navigation and stabilization solutions, for approximately €200 million ($216.8 million). This strategic acquisition strengthens Honeywell’s position in developing and delivering critical technologies for the future of autonomous vehicles in the aerospace and industrial sectors.
The acquisition of Civitanavi aligns with Honeywell’s long-term strategic focus on key megatrends, including the future of aviation and automation. Civitanavi’s technology portfolio seamlessly integrates with Honeywell’s existing offerings, creating a comprehensive suite of solutions for autonomous operations. This expanded portfolio empowers Honeywell to cater to a broader customer base.
“By integrating Civitanavi’s inertial technologies and sensors across Honeywell’s existing commercial, military, space and industrial platforms, our customers across the globe will now have access to a more robust portfolio of aerospace navigation solutions in support of their journey toward autonomous operations,” said Honeywell Aerospace Technologies President & CEO Jim Currier. “With this acquisition, we will be able to immediately expand our offerings to customers in the European Union through Civitanavi’s navigation solutions, a capability we intend to further build out in the near term.”
The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2024.
