Piper Aircraft’s new M700 Fury single-engine turboprop has received type certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Brazil’s Agencia Nacional de Aviacao Civil (ANAC), and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) of Australia, including approval for flight into known icing (FIKI) and unpaved surfaces.
The M700 had received U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification in March 2024. The six-seat aircraft features a 700-shp Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-52 turboprop engine and a five-blade Hartzell composite propeller.
The M700 has a maximum cruise speed of 557 km/h (301 knots), a maximum range of 3,430 kilometers (1,852 nautical miles), and a standard useful load of 1,052 kilograms (2,320 pounds). The aircraft is equipped with a touchscreen-controlled Garmin G3000 glass flight deck. The G3000 avionics suite comes standard with the HALO Safety System, which incorporates a number of systems and technologies, including an autothrottle and Garmin Autoland capability. The M700 also features Garmin’s PlaneSync technology, which includes a 4G LTE cellular and WiFi datalink that enables capabilities to streamline pre-flight and post-flight activities.
