Embraer’s E190F freighter has been fully certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The passenger-to-freighter conversion process and the Cargo Loading System, developed by U.S. Cargo Systems, received the certification by FAA last September. Previously, in July, the E-Freighter was certified by the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC).  European certification is due later this year.
The E-Freighter made its debut flight in April and its first public appearance during the Farnborough Airshow in July.

Embraer launched the E190F program in May 2022 to meet what it describes as the changing demands of e-commerce, which requires fast deliveries and decentralized operations through regional hubs. The manufacturer says that E-Jets converted to freighters will have over 40% more volume capacity, three times the range of large cargo turboprops, and up to 30% lower operating costs than larger narrowbodies.

Including both freight carried on the main deck and under the floor, the E190F’s maximum structural payload is 13,500 kilograms (29,762 lb).
