A strike has commenced at Textron Aviation after members of the International Association of Machinists (IAM) Local Lodge 774 District 70 rejected the company’s latest contract proposal. The strike, which began early Monday morning, involves approximately 5,000 workers across various Textron Aviation facilities in the region.

The union members voted overwhelmingly to reject the company’s offer, which included a 26% wage increase over four years, enhanced retirement benefits, and other improvements. Despite the company’s efforts to reach an agreement, the union members felt that the proposed contract did not adequately address their concerns.

The strike is expected to have a significant impact on Textron Aviation’s operations, with potential disruptions to production schedules and deliveries. The company has taken steps to mitigate the effects of the strike, including directing customers to alternative channels for service and parts.
