A Cessna Citation Longitude Full Flight Simulator (FFS), manufactured by TRU Simulation + Training Inc, has received U.S. Federal Aviation Administration Level D certification and been delivered to FlightSafety International’s Columbus, Ohio, Learning Center. The new simulator will support FlightSafety in providing training services for the Cessna Longitude super mid-size business jet.
An affiliate of Textron Aviation Inc, TRU Simulation designs, manufactures, and delivers high-fidelity training devices and full-motion flight simulators for civil and defense customers. The Longitude jet is also a Textron Aviation product, as Cessna is one of the company’s brands.
FlightSafety International and TRU Simulation formed a joint venture in 2019 to better support the training needs of customers. The FFS is the second Longitude FFS delivered to the Columbus center, and the third built under the auspices of the joint venture.
Textron Aviation has delivered more than 100 Longitude jets since the aircraft entered service in 2019. The Longitude jet is powered by a pair of 7,665-lbst Honeywell HTF7700L turbofan engines, and is equipped with a Garmin G5000 flight deck. The aircraft can accommodate up to 12 passengers. Maximum cruise speed is 483 knots. Range with four passengers is 3,500 nautical miles.
