Building on the momentum of its November attainment of Permit to Fly authorization, on December 22nd the United Kingdom-based eVTOL startup Vertical Aerospace announced the completion of its final prototype aircraft. This last prototype will be activated in January 2026, joining its predecessors in advancing the schedule of the company’s piloted flight testing regime. In late 2025, Vertical began the critical step of conducting tests of the platform’s capacity to conduct an inflight transition from ‘helicopter mode’ to ‘airplane mode’.
